Andrew Parsons has been elected president of the International Paralympic
Committee. Having served as the IPC’s
vice-president since 2013, Parsons is
the third president in IPC history. He
most recently served as president of
the Brazilian Paralympic Committee.
He succeeds Philip Craven, who held
the position for 16 years.

League partners with
Electronic Arts Inc. to
create the Madden NFL
The National Football League has teamed up with Electronic Arts Inc. to launch the Madden NFL Club Championship, a competi- tive gaming and e-sports event that for the first time will include very NFL team. The event is one of three announced Madden NFL Championship Series EA Majors. Players will qualify through an online competition and then
advance to tournaments at NFL stadiums and other venues. The final 32 players, one per NFL team, will compete in the Madden NFL Club Championship
Live Finals. The finals will take place in two stages, first at the Pro Bowl Experience in Orlando, Florida, and then at the Super Bowl Experience Driven by
GMC. The winner will receive a cash prize of more than $400,000 as well as
two tickets to Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis.
“Collaborating with EA to create the Madden NFL Club Championship presents a unique opportunity to capture the excitement of NFL action and the
passion of our fans with competition that anyone can participate in,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. n J.L.
